How do you select your ingredients?

One of the reasons we started Luscious Compass was to try to alleviate the discomfort our founder has with eczema and dry skin. Handcrafted soap is free from the chemicals and detergents found in most commercially made soaps, so that left the Herculean task of sourcing ingredients that much easier. We find the most reputable companies we can, who have a proven track record of sourcing their products from places that are cruelty, sex trafficking, and child labor free. We sleep better at night knowing our products help from start to finish.

Do you use animal products in your soap?

As a rule, no. Most of our soaps are vegan, although occasionally we will use an ingredient that doesn't fit that category. Those will be marked on the product page, usually with a note near the ingredients. Our main recipe is strictly vegan, although sometimes we will add honey, yogurt, or milk. We will always clearly mark this, and list the reason, benefits, and details in the product description.

I have sensitive skin. Can I still use your products? 

Most of our products are animal-byproduct free, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will work for you. Anything that does have a known allergen (nuts, honey, etc.) will be clearly marked on the product page; but we can't guarantee you won't have an adverse reaction. You know your body best, so please test, with a small amount if you are unsure. We also, by the end of 2022,  hope to release our mica/fragrance-free line. Hopefully, you'll find some products you love there!

What size are your bars?

Generally speaking, our bars will range between 4 & 5 ounces each. One of the beautiful things about handcrafted, artisan soap, is that it is done by hand. That means that each batch will vary from the next, and each bar will be slightly different, with imperfect cuts, holes, and "scratch marks." Each bar will vary in size, so even though they may be heavier, they will never be lighter than the marked weight. While we will always try to make each bar perfect, please understand that is certainly not the case. No matter how often our loved ones say they are. 😄

How long does a bar of soap last?

If a bar of soap is kept in ideal conditions, and used every day, it should last about a month. However, a bar of soap used strictly at the sink for handwashing will last much longer than one used in the shower. To extend your soap's life expectancy, make sure you keep it elevated (on a soap saver, or in a soap dish.) Make sure it dries completely between uses. Using a loofah or wash rag to apply the soap will make it last longer than applying the soap directly to your skin. The biggest thing is keeping it dry between uses. Soap doesn't "go bad," and a properly cured, hardened bar of soap will certainly last longer than one that cures for only a couple of weeks. There is also evidence to suggest that the longer a bar of soap cures, the longer it will last. Which we believe to be true, even if the scent doesn't live as long as the soap does.

When can I expect my package?

Barring unforeseen circumstances, orders are processed and shipped within 2-5 business days. If a mistake is made or an item is forgotten, use the 'contact us' link to let us know as soon as possible so we can update your order/invoice. If we are delayed for any reason, we will contact you to discuss the issue within a reasonable time.

Please make sure your address & phone number are up to date with us when you place your order. We aren't responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged products once they leave our facility. We will issue a tracking number to you before your package leaves us, and will notify you of changes we are aware of.

Do you offer returns/exchanges?

Unfortunately, no. Due to the nature of most of our products, we can't accept returns or exchanges. Now, if something happened to your candle string shipping, that we can work on. Use the 'contact us' link to let us know as soon as you see the problem, and we will do our best to find a solution.

Do you offer international shipping?

As of right now, we don't have the resources to ship internationally. Hopefully, that will change in the future. We can ship to Canadian residents and A.P.O boxes, but that's the extent of our international capabilities for now.

Do you offer custom orders?

Yes! We offer wholesale, 4-pound loaves! These can be cut into 10 bars, or smaller 1 and ½ounce size bars for small shops, baby showers, wedding favors, and more! Please send a message to us through the 'contact us' link or to lusciouscompass@gmail.com for more information.
